Situated inside Lanxi, Zhuge Village is the largest settle ment of Zhuge Liang's de­scendants. In the late years of the Southern Song Dy­nasty, the twenty-eighth grandson of Zhuge Liang (Zhuge Dashi) moved to the village. He redesigned the whole structure and constructed it based on the "nine zodial spaces and eight diagrams" pattern, in order to commemorate his ances­tors. In the center of this village is the Zhong Pond. It is half pool and half land, with a well on both sides, looking like a fish-shaped Taiji figure.
