Great Wall at Huangya Pass
Also known as Small Yan-men Pass, this wall is located about 18 miles north of Ji County. This 9,925-foot-long great wall with its 52 battle platforms and 14 watch towers guarding east Beijing is a relatively complete ancient military defense system. It was built under the reign of Yongle during the Ming Dynasty (in the early fifteenth century). Connecting the Widow Platform (Guafu Lou) in the east and Wangmaoding Mountain in the west, it is famous for its ruggedness, beautiful scenery, and impressive design.
