Stork lower

The Stork Tower (Guan-quelou) is on the east bank of the Yellow River southeast of Yongji. It was built during the Northern Zhou Dynasty (557-81). Completed in 580, the tower inspired many famous poets and writers and was one of four ancient Chinese towers. Destroyed in the Yuan Dynasty, the present 242-foot Stork Tower was rebuilt in 1997 by the Yongji government.
