Longhua Temple
Longhua Temple, located in Longhua Town, Xu Jiahui area, is the oldest and largest temple in Shanghai. The main building includes the Maitreya Hall, the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Hall of Sakyamuni, and the Abbot House. Jn the front of the temple is Longhua Pagoda with its famous bell. It is said that the pagoda was built in 249 as a seven-tier octagonal brick tower with a total height of 132.5 feet. This magnificent and graceful pagoda is one of the best-preserved pagodas in Shanghai.
