Situated in the village of Du, in the town of Guzhen, Qixia city, Mu Family Man­or is often called Manor of Mu's Second Dark Son (Mu'erheizi Zhuangyuan). Construction on it began in 1723 and was gradually completed during 200 con­secutive years of building by he Mu family. The manor is known as the "small Imperial Palace among the people." Facing south, the manor cov­ers an area of about 215,278 square feet and contains more than 480 rooms, which is the largest intact and most typi­cal feudal landlord manor in northern China.
