Kong Family Mansion, the Temple, and the Cemetery of Confucius (Kong Fu, Kong Miao, and Kongl.in)
Called collectively the Three Kongs (San Kong), these three complexes are a symbol of China's long-standing tradition of holding Confucius and Confucianism in esteem. The Temple of Confucius, also called Temple of the Sage (Zhisheng Miao), recalls the time when sacrifices were offered to Confucius in the feudal dynasties of ancient China. At the center of the city of Qufu is a large group of majestic historic buildings in typical oriental architectural style. The Three Kongs have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites since 1994.
