Medicine King Mountain
Medicine King Mountain is located less than one mile east of Yao County. Here is the residence of Sun Simiao, a famous clinician of the Tang Dynasty, known and revered as the "king of medicine." The mountain was originally called "Wutai" for the five small mountains, but was renamed as Medicine King Mountain in Sun's honor. The Medicine King Palace was built in the Ming Dynasty, and boasts many fine statues, carvings, and stone pillars with elaborate inscriptions.
