''General" Cliff Rock Paintings
These rock paintings are on the southern side of Jinping Mountain in the town of Jinping, in Lianyungang. Painted on the eastern cliff of the peak is a general on a horse, hence the name of the cliff. The paintings were made around the middle or late Neolithic Age and extend 72 feet from north to south and 50 feet from east to west. Ex-perts estimate that these paintings date back at least 4,000 years. These rock paintings are the only ones in China that reflect the production and life of an agricultural tribe.
