In Thada, there is a famous mound forest, which took shape in ancient times as a result of the formation of the Himalayas. Geologists confirmed that more than one million years ago, the area between Thada and Pulan was originally a vast lake. As a result of the moun­tain formation, the lake floor was constantly being eroded by running water. Later, when the water level declined and the lakebed rose up, erosion by wind and rain finally shaped it into its present configuration. Trees in the mound forest are in various shapes. Visitors who travel through the forest by car feel as if they are navigating around many giant feet.
