Lianzhu Pagoda

Lianzhu Pagoda lies at the top of Five Peaks Mountain, east of Enshi on the middle reaches of the Qing River. It was built in 1831 in the Qing Dynasty (1616-1911) and completed in one year. The seven-story pagoda is 138 feet tall. The octagonal base was made from several huge stones. There is a stone giant on each end, whose various poses render the pagoda as stable as Mount Tai itself.
