Bright Moon Island, 4,350 miles northwest of Qiqihar, is about 1,893 acres in area and is located in the middle of the Nanjiang River. It is named for its moonlike overlook and is surrounded by blue clear waters. In midsummer, the waters and trees combine to make a heavenly view, bright and serene. At the center of the island stands Wanshan Temple and a number of ancient pavilions Yuquan Pavilion, Sanqing Pavilion, Baiyang Pavilion, and Sanxing Pavilion—all of which are built in the ancient and elegant Chinese architectural style. There is a mini-train to take visitors around the island for some spectacular scenic views.
