Great Wall at Jinshanling

At the northeast end of Beijing City, there is a 6.5-mile section of the Great Wall called the Jinshanling Great Wall, so named because it is built on the Jinshan mountains. This part of the wall was initially built from 1368 to 1389 in the Ming Dynasty; in 1567 or 1570 General Qi Jiguang was in charge of rebuilding that part of the Wall. The great number of watch towers and battle platforms makes it second only to Badaling in its complexity and quality of construction.
