Zhijin Cave

Zhijin Cave, originally known as Daji Cave, is the most spectacular limestone cave discovered to date in China. It is located in Zhijin County, Guizhou Province, and has a length of 7.5 miles and an area of more than 27 square miles. The cave contains stalactites, stalagmites, and stone curtains of various shapes and formations; there are also intermittent pools and underground lakes. Also present are more than 120 forms of mineral accumulation and crystals, which are of much scientific value for the study of China's ancient geography and meteorology. Zhijin Cave is divided into many attractions, including Wangyuelou ("Moon Watching Tower"), Talin ("Pagoda Forest"), Nantianmen ("South Heavenly Gate"), Wanshoushang ("Longevity Mountain"), Wang-shanhu ("Mountain Watching Lake"), Guanghang-ong ("Guanghan Palace"), Xuexianggong ("Xuexiang Palace"), Lingxiaogong ("Lingxiao Palace"), Tian-du Square, and Yinyugong ("Silver Rain Palace").
