Bai-li (One-Hundred-li)

This lovely and extraordinarily beautiful place extends from Jinpo in Qianxi County to Pudi in Dafang County in Guizhou Province. The altitude ranges from 3,600 to 6,950 feet, and the place covers an area of 70 square miles. As the woods extend over 164,000 feet (100 li), they are known as "One-Hundred-li Azalea." Among the most famous sections are the Huangping Ten-li Azalea, Jinpo Section One, Jinpo Section Two, Duizuiyan, and Huadiyan. Blooming between spring and summer, the flowers range from magena to blood red in a wide variety of dark to light shades. (Note: One li roughly equals 1,640 feet.)
