Guilin’s Lijiang River

The Lijiang River lies in the northeast of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Also called Li Water, it has the typical features of Imestone peaks. The river, famous for its green mountains, beautiful waters, and wonderful caves, belongs to the Zhujiang water system. Its headstream is on Cat Mountain in Xingan County, north of Guilin. Flowing 215.5 miles through Guilin, Yangshuo, Pingle, and Wuzhou, it finally converges with the West River. The nicest part of the Lijiang River is from Guilin to Yangshuo, about 52 miles in all.
