Simatai Great Wall is a section of the Great Wall of China is located in Miyun County and Hebei Luanping. It is the most advantageous section of the Great Wall in the east, Wangjing floor chuankou in the west after a total length of 5.4 km. Great Wall was built in Northern Qi Dynasty, the existing building was built during the Ming Dynasty. The Great Wall was Yuanyanghu divided into two sections, respectively, 16 and 19 fortresses.   Located at the Gubeikou Township in the northeast of Miyun County, the 62-foot-long wall is famous for its ruggedness and strategic significance. It is separated into the eastern and western parts by the Simatai Res­ervoir. There are 35 watch towers on this section of the wall. Originally built in the early years of the Emperor of Hongwu during the Ming Dynasty, and later strength­ened by General Qi Jiguang and General Tan Lun, this section of the Great Wall is the only one to retain the original features of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty. UNESCO has designated Simatai Great Wall as one of the World Cultural Heritage sites.
