Great Wall at Mutianyu
Located in Huairou County, the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is connected with Juyongguan Pass in the west and Gubeikou Gateway in the east. Eight and a half miles to the northeast is where General Xu Da defeated the Yuan troops, and a barrier was built to prevent them from attacking again. In 1404, an official pass was constructed here. This section of the Wall runs 7,382 feet in length and holds 22 watch towers,among which the highest is 1,772 feet tall.
